• Tajikistan remains in a transitional, capacity-building phase under the 2023–2026 CSP, which targets progressive handover of school feeding and social protection to government, with WFP shifting toward technical partnership and quality-assurance roles.^[1]
• The Iran conflict (March 2026 food export ban; U.S. strikes on Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, and the Turkmenistan-Iran rail link) has materially disrupted the primary southern transit corridor used by Tajikistan for food and commodity imports. Tajikistan quadrupled bilateral trade with Iran in recent years; near-term substitute corridor capacity is limited, sustaining elevated import-cost pressure.^[2,3]
